Raireshwar Fort : A Brief Overview Many people believe that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj took the oath of Swarajya (self-rule) at the Raireshwar temple. However, there is no concrete historical evidence to support this event, so it is difficult to say for sure whether it is true or fictional.
The Raireshwar temple is located on the Rairi plateau. This fort, which is 29 kilometers from Bhor, can be easily visited from Pune in a day. Kenjalgad is 5 kilometers from the Raireshwar temple. Both forts can be easily seen in one day by private vehicle.

  1. Floral Beauty
    During the monsoon season, this plateau is filled with a variety of colorful flowers. Visiting Raireshwar during this time is like walking through the colors of nature.

  2. Temple of Shambhu Mahadev
    On the plateau is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple attracts devotees with its peaceful and serene atmosphere.

  3. Gomukh
    A perennial spring flowing from a cave near the temple is known as Gomukh. These springs add to the beauty of the plateau.

There are many routes to Raireshwar, but you will have to reach the village of Bhor by any route.

  • Via Bhor
    You can easily reach the foot of Raireshwar by private vehicle.
    From the foot of Raireshwar, there is a 15-minute climb up cement steps.
    After that, there is a ladder in the final stage that takes you to the Raireshwar plateau.
    A 10-minute walk from the plateau will take you to the Gomukhi tank.
    From there, you will reach the Raireshwar temple in 5 minutes.
    It generally takes 45 Minutes to reach the Raireshwar temple from the foot.

  • From Kenjalgad
    Raireshwar Fort is located 5 kilometers away by road from Kenjalgad towards Raigad Fort. You can easily reach the foot of the fort by private vehicle.
    From the foot of Raireshwar, there is a 15-minute climb up cement steps.

    From Pune, reach Ambawade via Bhor. From there, you can go to Raireshwar via Tithedharan-Korle. It usually takes 3 hours. The road is difficult in some places.

  • Via Bhor-Rayri
    Bus service is available from Bhor village to Rayri village at 11 am and 6 pm (with stay). This route is also known as the Sambardarya route. It generally takes two hours to reach Raireshwar by this route.
